Jean Paul Gaultier was the epitome of his brilliant self today morning as he introduced his exhibition of Haute Couture Fashion ‘From The Sidewalk To The Catwalk’ at the special press-preview meet at the de Young Museum of Fine Arts in San Francisco. He recounted his love for San Francisco, remembering his first trip here in 1980 right after the hippie culture was dying down and gave the audience a glimpse of his born genius as he recounted stories of his childhood, his grandmother and his beloved teddy bear who was also his first mannequin/model for his creations.
The press got a first hand view of this living legend and got to interact with him very closely. BAYFashion Magazine had the extreme privilege of a completely private viewing and shooting the exhibition, before the press was allowed inside the exhibition. We have to thank Wendy from Norris Communications for this opportunity to bring these pieces of fashion art to you in our upcoming April Issue.
We recorded the whole session in Video for our readers so the fashion inclined readers can hear the great man speak and marvel at his genius, his affable laughter, his way with words and terrific sense of humor. This man is truly a living legend.
The exhibition opens to the public tomorrow evening after the grand gala event.
