Ultra Music Festival has long been synonymous with dance music since its Miami debut in 1999 on beautiful South Beach. For 20+ years, Miami has staged the mothership of all the Ultra festivals each year during Miami Music Week and the acclaimed Winter Music Conference. Ultra has become an annual tradition for Miami, loved by all and attended by hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the globe. Every year, boasts a line-up of the best artists in electronic dance music. Ultra’s festivals are also known worldwide, with multiple editions across the globe, including Asia, South Africa, South America, and Europe. To date, Ultra festivals have welcomed millions of eager dance music enthusiasts across every inhabitable continent. What’s most impressive is Ultra has managed to maintain and grow its brand each year, defying all odds and even surviving the recent pandemic. 2022 saw Ultra Music Festival back at its original home of Bayfront Park and catered to one of its biggest attendances. In the summer of 2017, Ultra founder Russell Fabisch had a new vision he wanted to bring to life. The new brand was named Resistance, an element of their festival and dedicated to the underground sounds of house and techno. With the help of the Ultra team, the first edition took place on the white isles of Ibiza for their first-ever club residency at Privilege Ibiza. Now years later, and with a global pandemic behind us, Ultra brings the Resistance vibe they have expanded across the world back to their roots of South Beach Miami for a new chapter. Ultra has set its sights on opening its first-ever U.S. club residency at M2. M2 is a brand-new nightclub development opening in early 2023 and on the former grounds of one of Miami’s hottest clubs ever, Mansion. Situated on Collins Avenue between 12th and 13th streets, M2 will continue the tradition of being a venue known for expanding and developing the reach of dance music culture that exists today. This includes not only some of the godfathers of EDM but also a slew of hot and new coming artists that will be showcased. The new residency will continue the history of Miami’s dance music nightlife scene and Ultra Music Festival’s roots in South Beach. Resistance is set to blow minds, combining the futurism and technological advancements of the best in sound and lighting production and visual ear candy. Ultra Music Festival and Resistance are ready to take dance fans old and new to new heights with open arms, and we look forward to their big grand opening. The grand opening date is currently in the works as M2, and Resistance Miami gear up to open their doors. All signals indicate that it will take place before the upcoming Miami Music Week and The Winter Music Conference, which takes place the 3rd week of March 2023.
Ultra Music Festival will also be returning to Bayfront Park in Miami with the mothership this March 24, 25, and 26, 2023, and taking place again at Bayfront Park. 2023 looks like a massive year for Ultra and Resistance, and we can’t wait!
