On July 30 the last minute changes brought a delightful surprise to its fans by having Cellist Joshua Roman fill the spot of Pablo Ferrández who due to travel difficulty could not make the concert.
How incredible the experience of music filled with so much passion is a last-minute gift. The Director Lina Gonzalez-Granados love and commitment to powerful music filled the symphony hall with a fire of emotion that landed in chorus rose by Joshua to sing along with him after four encores!
Cello Concert and Manuel de Fella The Three-cornered Hat and Zoltan Kodaly lead the way to intense build-up to the audience participation at the end of the concert.
I was somewhat impressed that even masks did not stop nor dim the audience from singing and feeling the emotion that music stirred up inside of them. This moment shows how powerful the human spirit is under any restraint or restriction- it marches on singing.
More to come to be with and to feel in the Symphony Hall this year.
Please see the website for the program to participate in the experience of music for your ears and heart.
