The set imagined a fashion moon landing, with a colony of space craft dotted around the catwalk. The show was opened by style icon and music producer Caroline de Maigret, who walked the runway like the first woman on the moon, before entering a space pod and starting her live DJ set that activated the show itself.
The show was attended by 600 international guests (Olga Kurylenko, Karolina Kurkova, Solange Knowles, Audrey Tautou, Mark Ronson, Virginie Ledoyen, etc) as well as several designers like Alexandre Mattiussi, Alexis Mabille, Humberto Leon who came to discover the latest designs created by the big Swedish brand.
Sport and futurism were the themes at H&M Studio show for autumn/winter 2015, held at the Grand Palais in Paris. Models such as Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Edie Campbell wore pieces from H&M’s key seasonal collection, which also mixed together functional pieces and feminine layers. Solange Knowles, Audrey Tautou and Noomi Rapace were among the guests who sat front row at the H&M Studio show, held during Paris Fashion Week in a specially constructed lunar landscape inside the Grand Palais.
Outerwear is the focus with a multitude of propositions of pea coats, trenches, and loose enveloping jackets. Vinyl is found on a jacket and on a skirt. The dungaree is the stand out piece all knitted, or in zipped leather with large straps in an aviator style. The knitted jumper is also worn in a large way whilst the lightly draped dresses take over, worn on top of the trousers. Orange, camel and burgundy definitely look to be the three colours for next winter.
Ann-Sofie Johannson shared “We were inspired by space, and space ships and things like that, and we also talked a lot about functionality and practicality also actually in the clothes, and then added glamour of course, you always need a little bit of glamour and style. I think we have a lot of strong outerwear, like the padded jackets, as you said with the rounded volume, looks very good to wear, very practical, very warm, but also really fashionable at the same time, which I think is what you’re looking for as a fashion person. Knitted jumpsuit also a little bit funky, and then I think all the layering also, it’s a lot about the roll necks, and the layers, the dresses on top of trousers also I think feels really new and also cool you know in a way, it’s elegant but it’s also cool. Olga Kurynlenko: Great beautiful clothes, always fashionable and affordable. Karolina Kurkova: I wear a lot of H&M, I buy H&M for my son who is 5 years old, for my brother, for my mother sometimes, you know they really have a good variety of products for younger to cooler, to a little bit more conscious – earth conscious, which my jumpsuit is from, it’s the H&M conscious line, so I really appreciate that.”
