Wardrobe inspired by Mexican architect Luis Barragán (1902 – 1988).
Motivated by Barragán’s creative use of light, form and space that reflect the spirit of a location; emotional architecture,” connecting people, space and experience.
Fabrics have been chosen for their texture and color, engineered sweatshirts and textural linen knitwear reference Barragán’s use of color and textural contrasts. Performance fabrics accentuate this season’s outerwear.
The color palette makes reference to the primary subtractive colors of Barragán’s renowned Torres de Satélite. A spectrum of blues, (indigo through to sky), house red contrasts against yellow ochre, balanced by whites and lighter tones of oatmeal. Black adds a sense of structure to the palette.
New shirt shapes are introduced, which are loose with a relaxed fit; dropped necklines reference an artist’s smock and acknowledge a bohemian feel to the collection.
Key pieces included the Buffalo Jacket in suede and cotton, Tote Bags in suede, the Barragán shirt with exaggerated length and the introduction of a constructed jacket.
