A seventies spirit and the world of sport, at the heart of the collection by Tommy Hilfiger…Tommy Hilfiger is one of the biggest rendez-vous during the New York fashion week and the American designer has the talent to transform his fashion shows each time into real shows. For autumn/winter 2015, set in a huge American football pitch with giant screens and the biggest hits playing in the background, from Jackson 5 to Beyonce. Sport is always present at Tommy Hilfiger and comes back as the central element but twisted into an urban wardrobe. The numbers of players are seen on jumpers and on leather dresses in tones of red-camel-brown. The jackets of coaches become trendy bombers. Denim is reworked. The skirts finish in bands with lace and linings in crepe. A seventies spirit is always present, with a nod to Ali Mc Graw, the heroine of Love Story, which inspired the designer. Without forgetting a revival of the basics that never go out of fashion labeled Tommy Hilfiger, memories from the beginnings because the house founded in 1985 blows out 30 candles in 2015. To note: all the sweaters in faux fur to stock up on now. Interview: Tommy Hilfiger: I was very inspired by sports, and I’ve always had sport in my collection, but I wanted to take Love Story and sport and blend the two together, and that’s what we did. Everybody wants to be casual, everyone wants luxury, everyone wants sport, so we blended the two together.
