ROOMS THAT ROCK 4 CHEMO ANNOUNCES HONORABLE MAYOR WILLIE BROWN WILL SPEAK, X-FACTOR’S STAR JASON BROCK TO PERFORM, AND FASHION ICON SONYA MOLODESTKAYA TO BE PART OF FASHION SHOW AT ITS 2014 INAUGURAL FUNDRAISING GALA.

SAN FRANCISCO (October 13, 2014) — Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo (RTR4C), a nonprofit organization devoted to transforming chemotherapy rooms into beautiful, inspiring spaces will host its Inaugural Gala on November 1, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to midnight at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco.
“We are honored and so happy to have the Honorable Mayor Willie Brown support our cause, this is a dream come true for us,” shares Lisa Kang, RTR4C Gala Co-Chair and Board Member.
The black tie fundraising event will feature fine dining, X-factor TV star Jason Brock, San Francisco rising stars and violonists Lea Bourgade and Shanmugan, DJ Platurn and a couture fashion show by San Francisco fashion star, Vasily Vein, as well as silent and live auctions.
Guests will have an opportunity to learn about and support RTR4C’s vision of transforming every chemotherapy room, in every hospital, in every city around the world.
Don Sanchez, San Francisco Bay Area’s beloved veteran anchor and KGO reporter will host the event alongside auctioneer Abra Annes who will auction off once-in-a-lifetime experiences, vacations and dinners to raise funds for RTR4C.
The Honorable Mayor Willie Brown will focus on the impact Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo has made in the city of San Francisco.
Jason Brock, a television, film and stage star will perform. He was seen in homes all over the world as a finalist on X-Factor singing songs like Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind.” Jason also starred in the film, “Love is not Enough,” which played at film festivals all over the world. Jason is well-known as a cabaret star and performs original shows regularly in San Francisco, New York and LA.
San Francisco rising stars Lea Bourgade and Maya Shanmugan will entertain us with favorite classical tunes. They are both part of the pre-college program at the SF Conservatory of Music. Maya is a member of the SFCM chamber orchestra and Léa is actively involved in San Francisco chamber music.
Musical entertainer, DJ Platurn, a 20-year veteran with clients that include Pandora, Adidas, Pixar, MTV and the Golden State Warriors has played alongside some of the biggest names in the industry. He has also produced music for and collaborated with award-winning documentarians, Grammy- nominated vocalists and visual artists.
The gala’s headliner, Vasily Vein, will showcase a collection of his exquisite couture gowns and launch his 2015 spring collection.
Fashion icon, Sonya Molodestkaya who has made the cover of many magazines such as San Francisco Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, 7×7 to name a few, will be part of the fashion show donning one of his superb creations.
Vein’s high-end, sustainable fashion for men and women has been featured in Marie Claire, The San Francisco Chronicle, 7×7, San Francisco Magazine and STEPin2.
“I am thrilled and grateful that Sonya Molodestakaya will be part of our fashion show; it sure will be one of the highlight of the show. She wears Vasily Vein’s dresses like no one else,” said Sophie Azouaou, San Francisco Green Leader, RTR4C Gala Fashion Chair and Board Member.
“I am excited that Vasily Vein has chosen our event to launch his 2015 spring collection,” Azouaou adds.
“Our Gala represents a major milestone for Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo,” said Judy Davies, RTR4C Gala Co-Chair and Board Member. “In 2014 alone, there will be an estimated 1.6 million new cancer cases diagnosed. There has never been a more important time to make an immediate and impactful difference in the recovery and healing process for patients with cancer.”
