May 2014 (New York, NY) — On May 24th, fashion’s leading multi-brand retailer, INTERMIX, will open its newest boutique in Palo Alto, California. The INTERMIX Palo Alto store design was inspired by the materials used in the region’s architectural designs and pulled from a unique mix of natural and industrial materials to localize the feel, compliment the elevated product and enhance the customer experience, The boutique will feature distressed wood wall paneling, perforated leather seating, in-set carpeting, reclaimed flooring and three-dimensional art installations from local artisan Aleksandra Zee. Ranging in scale from smaller designs to whole room distortions, Zee strives to transform the viewer’s perception of the space by utilizing the transcendence of harsh, broken, or discarded materials into objects of soft whimsy.
