11th Annual “Success: You Wear It Well” Gala will take place on June 22, 2016
San Francisco, California – June 7, 2016 – Dress for Success San Francisco celebrates 11 years of advancing Bay Area women in the workforce with its annual fashion gala held at the Intercontinental Hotel on June 22nd 2016; Success: You Wear It Well. This year’s gala will begin with a cocktail reception with tastings by top women chefs and silent auction. Following the reception guests will be seated for dinner and enjoy fashion show, stories of triumph and live auction. The fashion show will feature local designers and Dress for Success clients who have benefitted from Dress for Success San Francisco’s career programs.
“We are very excited to celebrate the accomplishments of our local affiliate and are thrilled Dress for Success San Francisco has helped over 5,000 women since inception in 2006. We look forward to providing career services to more women within our local community,” said Renée Surcouf, Executive Director of Dress for Success San Francisco. “Our annual event is a celebration of our clients, our community, and our future.”
Featured guests of the evening – to be emceed by the Bay Area’s noted anchorwoman Vicki Liviakis –include Keynote Speaker Marnie Levine, Honoree Carolyn Wente, and Jake Wall and Blake Patterson.
Levine, COO of Instagram since 2015, began her career in the Department of Treasury and has since served as Chief of Staff at the White House Economic Council and VP of Global Policy for Facebook, among her many other achievements. Wente, CEO of Wente Vineyards and President of the California Wine Institute, was instrumental is growing Wente Vineyards to the global brand it is today. Wall and Patterson, contestants on Season 14 of Project Runway, have launched their new luxury fashion line JAKE.
“Dress for Success San Francisco empowers women to secure employment, advance their career and change their lives and the lives of their families. Our organization provides a continuum of services so that we can address the needs of every woman at every stage of her career. Our annual event is an evening of inspiration and transformation as we celebrate our greatest achievements, the success stories of the women we serve and the lives we change as a result of our career programming,” continues Surcouf.
Cocktail reception tastings will be provided by top women chefs in the Bay Area including Sharon Nahm of E&O Kitchen & Bar, Trish Tracey of Myriad Gastropub, Patti Dellamonica of One Market Restaurant and Kimberly Bulger of Scala’s Bistro. The inspiring fashion show will feature looks by Talbots featuring Project Runway’s Jake Wall and Blake Patterson. Benefit Cosmetics and Beauty Brigade will be styling models.
Funds raised from the event will directly support Dress for Success San Francisco’s career programs including Suiting Program, Job Search Program, Professional Women’s Group and Career Center.
