BAYFashion at NYC Fashion Week S/S 2013 Day 4
by Sarah Silva
BAYFashion attended two shows on day four, September 9th: Erickson Beamon and Emerson.
Erickson Beamon: Remember that large knitwear that Rodarte brought back into style a few years ago? Well, it looks like it’s back again. Erickson Beamon featured multicolored pastel maxi dresses that looked like the luxe version of what could’ve been an Etsy craft. The bohemian look was offset by their stunning jewelry: we saw dazzling headbands, a waist-long necklace, and even a huge, forearm covering bracelet.
Emerson : Emerson’s look this season was definitely modeled for the cool, young sophisticate. It mixed the perfect downtown materials with uptown cuts. We saw more peter pan collars, floral maxi dresses, and some more bright red looks in bright red lace. The show finished with a big bang and a whole lot of falling red confetti for the models’ last walk-through. It’s refreshing to see a designer use a bright color instead of pastels for spring and summer.
