Riawna Capri Creates DIY Styling Technique: “The Jet Set” – A Travel-Friendly DIY Styling Technique That Turns Your Headphones into Styling Tools
Beats by Dr. Dre has partnered with celebrity hairstylist Riawna Capri to create a series of “Headphone Hair” looks – hairstyles that tap into the multi-functional nature of your earphones just in time for the holiday travel season.
Capri, best known for being the mastermind behind Jennifer Lawrence’s famous pixie cut and Julianne Hough’s signature short crop, co-owns the 901 Salon on Melrose in Los Angeles, CA, and is the go-to hair guru for many top Hollywood stars including Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele and Nina Dobrev.
Capri set out to develop the hairstyles looks, inspired by beauty and celebrity hairstyle trends, by utilizing the new premium wireless earphone collection from Beats By Dre as tools to obtain the desired styles.
In anticipation of the busy travel season Riawna developed “The Jet Set” hairstyling technique for girls on the go: a hairstyle for busy holiday travelers who want to avoid having flat, messy hair after a day on the road or in-flight.

The Jet Set technique, inspired by loose knots with a modern twist, is easily achieved by calling upon the Beats Solo3 Wireless ($299.95 apple.com) headphones which utilized as a tool while on-route to ‘set’ your hair so that once you arrive you have beautiful, voluminous cascading waves–perfect for greeting family members, unexpected airport paparazzi or heading directly to an event.
“No one needs to spend a lot of time on their hair as long as you have the right tips and tricks to do it at home,” says Riawna, “and that’s what we had in mind when making each Headphone Hair look.”

ABOUT RIAWNA CAPRI
Riawna graduated from Marinello’s School of Beauty in Henderson, NV, in 2002 at the top of her class. She then moved to Los Angeles to work for Fred Segal Beauty where she met her best friend and now business partner, Nikki Lee. The assistant program was tough, rough and disciplined; traits which would later help develop the Nine Zero One assistant academy. In 2006 Riawna and Nikki decided they wanted to grow and create new ideas for their own “home away from home,” that was comfortable yet still high class–thus Nine Zero One Salon was born. Riawna is a down to earth yet super honest person. This combination has clients coming from all over the world to have her help create the “best you”.
