The events, the parties, the fashion shows, the discoveries; a year rich in emotion with several remarkable things to remember: Nicolas Ghesquière, Jeremy Scott, 125 years of Lanvin, The Louis Vuitton Foundation, etc. Including interviews with Alexander Wang, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Jeremy Scott. The events, the parties, the shows, the discoveries and the surprises. A year rich in emotions with many unmissable things to remember. First of all we can’t go through a year without celebrating a few birthdays, the candles were blown out at Lanvin for its 125th anniversary and a party at Diane Von Furstenberg who celebrates 40 years of her still highly coveted wrap dress… The desires were equally felt on the side of the collaborations which are becoming increasingly popular. We loved the romance, of Clémence Poesy at Gérard Darel, the Italian sensuality of Anthony Vacarello for the capsule collection by Versus, sophisticated sportswear by Alexander Wang for H&M (itw), the very ethnic and girly jewellery by Miley Cyrus created in partnership with Jeremy Scott. This Amercian designer also created a buzz this year by becoming the artistic director of Moschino. His fashion shows were celebrated with incredible energy, and showing clothes that represent the symbols of the 21st Century. Finally not to forget the buzz: the arrival of John Galliano at Maison Martin Margiela, with the first haute couture show next January. To be a top model means strutting the lengths of the catwalks and being seen in all the campaigns. Whilst Edie Campbell represents the perfect rock attitude, Binx Walton is without a doubt the model of the moment seen at all the 4 Fashion Weeks. (itw) And finally to Burberry, who strikes again by reuniting the two stars, Cara Delevigne and Kate Moss for their latest campaign, the perfume My Burberry. A special mention goes to the sculptural Naomi Campbell who captures all the attention at each of her runway appearances. The show cases by Olivier Saillard, Director of the Galliera Museum in Paris and fashion historian are always worth taking a detour for. We enjoyed: “Models never talk” including seven former models who recounted their fashion experiences in a voice that was sincere, moving and funny. Beauty also revealed wonderful surprises. Especially the launch of the first beauty collection created by Marc Jacobs, but also with Rihanna bursting with pride for her new perfume christened Rogue. And it’s Rihanna again who we saw, sat at all the shows last March, just like Kanye West, who from now on is accompanied by his wife Kim Kardashian who has become one of the unmissable celebrities of the shows…Not forgetting the presence of Jennifer Lopez at the Versace couture show last July. If the stars are still rushing around in Paris discovering the city, they shouldn’t miss out on admiring the new Louis Vuitton Foundation, the magnificent building designed by Frank Gehry who came to the launch. Interviews: Diane Von Furstenberg: First of all this year after forty years I have seen that despite everything this dress is still going generation after generation and I’m close to the 5th generation and it’s really quite extraordinary. Alexander Wang: To be part of the H&M family and to work on this project with them was you know so exciting but also at the same time we really felt we wanted to approach it differently; the idea of active wear. Performance wear has always been something close to me and my inspiration process. Jeremy Scott: Barbie is just a doll and fashion is just clothes, if you can just bring some happiness and some joy for 10 minutes then great, that’s all it should be. Free Music / Bandit & Nikit
