Brooklyn-based songwriter-producer Charles Fauna recently co-wrote and provided vocals on Glassio’s track “Morning House” and today turns his gaze towards his solo material. Charles reveals his new single “Abandon” that’s a euphoric ‘fuck you’ to conformity, written as a reminder that it’s always possible to re-imagine things and sonic-ally tips its hat to the experimental pop sound of Phoenix and Passion Pit. It’s loud, colorful, defiant, and reflective of Charles’ personal struggles when it was written almost a year ago.
“I wrote this song to prove to myself that you don’t have to pick a comfortable role and embody it for the rest of your life,” Charles says of “Abandon.” “If you abandon what you know then all that remains is what you don’t, and a world of limitless new beginnings.”
Be sure to catch Charles live later this month on May 26th in NYC along with Ben Talmi and Sulene. Tickets are available HERE.
