The 5th annual Snowglobe Music Festival took place at the Lake Tahoe Community College Campus in South Lake Tahoe, California, on December 29th, 30th & 31st and it seems to have hit its stride with a sold-out attendance and lots of great and diverse talent. With temperatures ranging from 36° to 8° and tons of snow on the ground, Snowglobers were more then thrilled to have 3 stages with plenty of great music to keep them moving. Kickoff day highlights included Hippie Sabotage, NGHTMRE, E-40, Galantis and supergroup Jack Ü which brought together two of EDM’s brightest artists Diplo and Skrillex. Day 2 highlights belonged to Lil Dicky, Alison Wonderland, Chet Faker, Eric Prydz and Bay Area native Kaskade who closed out the show with an amazing set and prepping fans for the big final night. New Year’s Eve in itself was part of the attraction for the last day and artists brought their A game with stellar sets by Louis the Child, Run the Jewels, Dillion Francis, Hometown Hip Hop hero G-Easy and Ghostland Observatory. Fans cheered in the New Year with eager enthusiasm and didn’t seem bothered by the cold conditions as they danced until the end. Besides great music, party goers were also entertained by additional attractions from fire performers, ski and exciting snowboard trick demos to impressive art installations. One area of the festival also had cool hammocks and a fire pit for those looking for a little chill time while still enjoying the music and festive vibe. There was also no shortage of good food which included vegan, organic and gluten-free options, coffee, and lots of bars for the 21+ all at reasonable prices. For the high rollers who paid the extra up-charge, the VIP section had a great outside area with prime viewing of the mainstage and heaters to keep you warm as well as more exclusive bars, plenty of seating, and private restrooms. The event overall seemed like a huge success and left no question as to why Snowglobers travel from all over to come to South Lake Tahoe and attend. With an entire year now to plan, excited to see what organizers have in store next.
