Robin Thicke Headlines the 30th Annual Fashion Extravaganza With Performances by Karmin and iHeartRadio Rising Star Winners Megan and Liz
SAN FRANCISCO, CA—Macy’s Passport Presents Glamorama 2012 invades San Francisco to honor three decades of fashion and compassion with this year’s theme The British Invasion: The Music Then. The Fashion Now! at the Orpheum Theatre on Friday, September 14, at 8:00 p.m.This iconic event, which also wows audiences in Minneapolis, Chicago and Los Angeles, brings together musical performances, fall fashion, dance and the most glam after party in town for one unforgettable evening—all to benefit longstanding partners AIDS Emergency Fund, Glide Foundation and Project Open Hand.
Headlining the event is multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer and musician Robin Thicke, who will perform an acoustic three-song set. Known for such hits as “Lost Without U” and “Sex Therapy,” Thicke has written and produced songs for more than 20 gold and platinum albums and most recently was featured on the ABC reality singing series “Duets,” where he served as a show superstar. Chart-topping pop duo Karmin, who shot to fame through their collection of YouTube cover songs, will also take the stage. They most recently released original tracks “Brokenhearted” and the rap-fueled “I Told You So” from their debut album “Hello.” Also set to perform is Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star contest winners Megan & Liz, two Nashville-based 19-year-old twin sisters penning infectious and inspiring pop anthems that have resonated with an entire generation of fans.

Fall collections featured on this year’s runway include Bar III, Calvin Klein, Diesel, Material Girl,Rachel Rachel Roy, Sean John, Tommy Hilfiger, and the exclusive, limited-edition Nicole Richie for Impulse collection (available in select Macy’s stores and on macys.com on September 12).
“From The Beatles to The Rolling Stones, Macy’s Passport Presents Glamorama pays homage to some of the most well-known and respected British pop icons from the past 50 years,” said Mike Gansmoe, Macy’s Vice President of Special Productions. “British bands have inspired culture while capturing the attention of the world since the ‘60s and their music provides the inspiration behind this year’s visuals, fashion segments and party elements.”
Following the show, the evening continues downtown at the After Party at The Asian Art Museumwith a nod to British culture, food and design. Guests will sip bubbly in the American Express Champagne Lounge and specialty cocktails from Patrón Spirits,dance to music by DJ L, mingle with cast and crew, and taste gourmet British-inspired hors d’oeuvres by Taste Catering, with highlights like Fish ‘n Chips and a Pudding Buffet with modern twists on classic English desserts. Partygoers can also create a personalized flip book courtesy of Office Max, have a consultation with a MAC Cosmetics expert before posing with the band for a Patrón Photo Shoot,grab a snack at theLUNA bar wall, and sample desserts from See’s Candies.
