John Galliano is back! The creativeness of this English designer is revealed in the very first ready to wear collection for Maison Margiela. After the couture presented in London last January, the designer makes a remarkable return to Paris Fashion Week. We find exaggerated makeup and looks mixing materials, genres and influences. We sense a slight seventies revival, with the long coats which hang, the short jackets with large collars, patterned mini-skirts and shiny textures. The Margiela spirit is present with the deconstructed pieces, the visible stitching, the blunt raw cuts and the way in which you wear the clothes. A pinstripe bustier reveals a glimpse of an orange bra, and capri velvet trousers decorated with flowers and bows at the knee. The alchemy of Maison Margiela and John Galliano seems to be working!
